Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ وَضَعَ رَجُلٌ يَدَهُ عَلَى النَّبِيّ
ِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ وَاللَّهِ مَا أُطِيقُ أَنْ أَضَعَ يَدِي عَلَيْكَ مِنْ شِدَّةِ حُمَّاكَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّا مَعْشَرَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ يُضَاعَفُ لَنَا الْبَلَاءُ كَمَا يُضَاعَفُ لَنَا الْأَجْرُ إِنْ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ مِنْ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ يُبْتَلَى بِالْقُمَّلِ حَتَّى يَقْتُلَهُ وَإِنْ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ مِنْ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ لَيُبْتَلَى بِالْفَقْرِ حَتَّى يَأْخُذَ الْعَبَاءَةَ فَيَخُونَهَا وَإِنْ كَانُوا لَيَفْرَحُونَ بِالْبَلَاءِ كَمَا تَفْرَحُونَ بِالرَّخَاءِ

English Translation
Abdur-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar informed us, from Zayd ibn Aslam, from a man, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) who said: A man placed his hand upon the Prophet ﷺ and said: "By Allah, I cannot endure to place my hand upon you because of the intensity of your fever!" the Prophet ﷺ said: "Indeed, we the company of prophets are tested most severely, then those nearest to us, then those nearest to them. Whoever is patient shall have the reward of patience, and whoever is impatient shall have the burden of impatience."
