‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏مَعْمَرٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ‏ ‏أَنَّهُ ‏ ‏رَأَى الطِّينَ فِي أَنْفِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏وَأَرْنَبَتِهِ ‏ ‏مِنْ أَثَرِ السُّجُودِ وَكَانُوا مُطِرُوا مِنْ اللَّيْلِ ‏

English Translation

Abdur-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Abu Salamah ibn Abdur-Rahman, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه), that he saw mud on the nose of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and on his forehead — meaning from the traces of clay [from prostrating on the ground in the masjid].
