English Translation

'Affan narrated to us, Wuhayb narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Yahya narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Yusuf ibn Abdullah ibn Salam, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "What I fear most for you is what Allah brings forth for you from the blessings of the earth." They said: "What are the blessings of the earth?" He said: "The adornments of the world." A man said to him: "Does good bring evil?" the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was silent until we thought revelation was descending upon him. Then he wiped the sweat from his forehead and said: "Where is the questioner?" He said: "Good does not bring evil. Indeed this wealth is green and sweet. Whatever is taken with a generous soul will be blessed. But whatever is taken excessively is like the one who eats and is never full."
