حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ دَخَلْنَا عَلَى أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَا وَرَجُلٌ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ حِينَ صَلَّيْنَا الظُّ
هْرَ فَدَعَا الْجَارِيَةَ بِوَضُوءٍ فَقُلْنَا لَهُ أَيُّ صَلَاةٍ تُصَلِّي قَالَ الْعَصْرَ قَالَ قُلْنَا إِنَّمَا صَلَّيْنَا الظُّهْرَ الْآنَ فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ تِلْكَ صَلَاةُ الْمُنَافِقِ يَتْرُكُ الصَّلَاةَ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَتْ فِي قَرْنَيْ الشَّيْطَانِ أَوْ بَيْنَ قَرْنَيْ الشَّيْطَانِ صَلَّى لَا يَذْكُرُ اللَّهَ فِيهَا إِلَّا قَلِيلًا

English Translation
Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us, from al-'Ala' ibn Abdur-Rahman, who said: We entered upon Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) — myself and a man from the Ansar — when we had prayed Dhuhr. He called for a meal and we ate. Then he said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Eating at sahur time is blessed, so do not abandon it, even if one of you only takes a sip of water, for indeed Allah and His angels send blessings upon those who eat sahur."
