Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ قَالَ سُئِلَ أَنَسٌ عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ
اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ اللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ مَا كُنَّا نَشَاءُ أَنْ نَرَاهُ مِنْ اللَّيْلِ مُصَلِّيًا إِلَّا رَأَيْنَاهُ وَمَا كُنَّا نَشَاءُ أَنْ نَرَاهُ نَائِمًا إِلَّا رَأَيْنَاهُ وَكَانَ يَصُومُ مِنْ الشَّهْرِ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لَا يُفْطِرُ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لَا يَصُومُ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا

English Translation
Ibn Abi 'Adi narrated to us, from Humayd, who said: Anas (رضي الله عنه) was asked about the night prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: We never wished to see him praying at night except that we saw him praying, and we never wished to see him sleeping except that we saw him sleeping.
