حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا كَانَ مُقِيمًا اعْتَكَفَ ال
ْعَشْرَ الْأَوَاخِرَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ وَإِذَا سَافَرَ اعْتَكَفَ مِنْ الْعَامِ الْمُقْبِلِ عِشْرِينَ قَالَ أَبِي لَمْ أَسْمَعْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ إِلَّا مِنْ ابْنِ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

English Translation
Ibn Abi 'Adi narrated to us, from Humayd, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: When the Prophet ﷺ was resident, he would perform i'tikaf during the last ten days of Ramadan. When he traveled [and could not perform i'tikaf that year], he would perform i'tikaf for the first ten days of the following Ramadan [to make up for it].
