Hajjaj narrated to us, Layth narrated to us, Bukayr ibn 'Abdullah narrated to me, from 'Iyad ibn 'Abdullah ibn Sa'd, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) who said: A man was struck [with misfortune] during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding fruits he had purchased, and his debts became many. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Give charity to him.' So the people gave him charity, but it did not cover his debt. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to his creditors: 'Take what you find, and you have nothing more than that.'
