حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ ع
َطِيَّةَ الْعَوْفِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنِّي قَدْ تَرَكْتُ فِيكُمْ مَا إِنْ أَخَذْتُمْ بِهِ لَنْ تَضِلُّوا بَعْدِي الثَّقَلَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَا أَكْبَرُ مِنْ الْآخَرِ كِتَابُ اللَّهِ حَبْلٌ مَمْدُودٌ مِنْ السَّمَاءِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ وَعِتْرَتِي أَهْلُ بَيْتِي أَلَا وَإِنَّهُمَا لَنْ يَفْتَرِقَا حَتَّى يَرِدَا عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ

English Translation
Ibn Numayr narrated to us, 'Abd al-Malik ibn Abi Sulayman narrated to us, from 'Atiyyah al-'Awfi, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'I have left among you two weighty things: the Book of Allah — a rope stretched from heaven to earth — and my progeny, my household. They will not separate until they return to me at the Pond.'
