Hadith #114
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً لَقِيَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي طَرِيقٍ مِنْ طُرُقِ الْمَدِينَةِ فَقَ
الَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ لِي إِلَيْكَ حَاجَةً قَالَ يَا أُمَّ فُلَانٍ اجْلِسِي فِي أَيِّ نَوَاحِي السِّكَكِ شِئْتِ أَجْلِسْ إِلَيْكِ قَالَ فَقَعَدَتْ فَقَعَدَ إِلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى قَضَتْ حَاجَتَهَا
English Translation
Marwan ibn Mu'awiyah informed us from Humayd al-Tawil, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) that a woman met the Prophet ﷺ on one of the roads of Madinah and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I have a need with you.' He said: 'O mother of so-and-so, sit in whichever road you wish and I will sit with you.' He sat with her until she had fulfilled her need.
