English Translation
Yazid narrated from Hammad, from Thabit al-Bunani, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: On the day of al-Hudaybiyyah, eighty armed men from the people of Makkah descended upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his Companions from Mount al-Tan'im, wanting to take them by surprise. He captured them, then pardoned them. So the verse was revealed: {And it is He who withheld their hands from you and your hands from them in the interior of Makkah after He caused you to overcome them} [al-Fath 48:24].
