English Translation

Yazid ibn Harun narrated from Hammad ibn Salamah, from Thabit, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) that eighty men from the people of Makkah descended upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from Mount al-Tan'im armed, wanting to take him and his Companions by surprise. He captured them and then pardoned them. So Allah عز وجل revealed: {And it is He who withheld their hands from you and your hands from them in the interior of Makkah} [al-Fath 48:24].
