حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ الرُّبَيِّعَ عَمَّةَ أَنَسٍ كَسَرَتْ ثَنِيَّةَ جَارِيَةٍ فَطَلَبُوا إِلَى الْقَوْمِ الْعَفْوَ فَأَبَوْا فَأَتَوْا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ الْقِصَاصُ قَالَ أَنَسُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ تَكْسِرُ ثَنِيَّةَ فُلَانَةَ فَقَا
لَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا أَنَسُ كِتَابُ اللَّهِ الْقِصَاصُ قَالَ فَقَالَ وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ لَا تُكْسَرُ ثَنِيَّةُ فُلَانَةَ قَالَ فَرَضِيَ الْقَوْمُ فَعَفَوْا وَتَرَكُوا الْقِصَاصَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ مِنْ عِبَادِ اللَّهِ مَنْ لَوْ أَقْسَمَ عَلَى اللَّهِ أَبَرَّهُ

English Translation
Ibn Abi 'Adiyy narrated to us from Humayd, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) that al-Rubayyi', the paternal aunt of Anas, broke the front tooth of a girl. They sought pardon from the people but they refused. So they came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said: 'Qisas (retaliation).' Anas ibn al-Nadr said: 'O Messenger of Allah, will al-Rubayyi''s tooth be broken? No, by the One Who sent you with the truth, her tooth shall not be broken!' the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'O Anas, the Book of Allah prescribes qisas.' Then the people were pleased and pardoned. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Indeed, among the servants of Allah are those who, if they were to swear by Allah, He would fulfill their oath.'
