English Translation

Ibn Abi 'Adiyy narrated to us from Sulayman, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of Badr: 'Who will see what Abu Jahl has done?' So Ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) went and found that the two sons of 'Afra' had struck him until he fell lifeless. He grabbed his beard and said: 'Are you Abu Jahl?' He said: 'And is there anyone greater than a man whom his own people have killed?' — or he said: 'whom you have killed?'
