English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us: Shu'bah narrated to us from Abu 'Imran al-Jawni, he said: I heard Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) narrating from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'Allah (عز وجل) says to the one with the lightest punishment among the people of the Fire: If you had everything on earth, would you ransom yourself with it? He will say: Yes. Allah will say: I had asked you for what is less than that when you were in the loins of Adam — that you not associate anything with Me — but you insisted on associating partners with Me.'
