Hadith #288
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّهَا نَزَلَتْ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرْجِعَهُ مِنْ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ وَأَصْحَابُهُ يُخَالِطُونَ الْحُزْنَ وَالْكَآبَةَ وَقَدْ حِيلَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ مَسَاكِنِهِمْ وَنَحَرُوا الْهَدْيَ بِالْحُدَ
يْبِيَةِ { إِنَّا فَتَحْنَا لَكَ فَتْحًا مُبِينًا إِلَى قَوْلِهِ صِرَاطًا مُسْتَقِيمًا } قَالَ لَقَدْ أُنْزِلَتْ عَلَيَّ آيَتَانِ هُمَا أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ الدُّنْيَا جَمِيعًا قَالَ فَلَمَّا تَلَاهُمَا قَالَ رَجُلٌ هَنِيئًا مَرِيئًا يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ قَدْ بَيَّنَ اللَّهُ لَكَ مَا يَفْعَلُ بِكَ فَمَا يَفْعَلُ بِنَا فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ الْآيَةَ الَّتِي بَعْدَهَا { لِيُدْخِلَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ } حَتَّى خَتَمَ الْآيَةَ

English Translation
Bahz narrated to us: Hammam narrated to us from Qatadah, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) that it was revealed upon the Prophet ﷺ upon his return from al-Hudaybiyah while his companions were mingling grief and sorrow — they had been prevented from reaching their dwellings and had been kept from the House (the Ka'bah). So Allah revealed: 'Indeed, We have given you a clear conquest' [48:1] until the end of the verse. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'A verse has been revealed upon me that is more beloved to me than the entire world.'
