حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ بَلَغَ صَفِيَّةَ أَنَّ حَفْصَةَ قَالَتْ إِنِّي ابْنَةُ يَهُودِيٍّ فَبَكَتْ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهِيَ تَبْكِي فَقَالَ مَا شَأْنُكِ فَقَالَتْ
قَالَتْ لِي حَفْصَةُ إِنِّي ابْنَةُ يَهُودِيٍّ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّكِ ابْنَةُ نَبِيٍّ وَإِنَّ عَمَّكِ لَنَبِيٌّ وَإِنَّكِ لَتَحْتَ نَبِيٍّ فَفِيمَ تَفْخَرُ عَلَيْكِ فَقَالَ اتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَا حَفْصَةُ

English Translation
'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, he said: Ma'mar narrated to us from Thabit, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: It reached Safiyyah (رضي الله عنها) that Hafsah (رضي الله عنها) said: 'She is the daughter of a Jew.' So she wept. the Prophet ﷺ entered upon her while she was weeping and said: 'What makes you weep?' She said: 'Hafsah said to me that I am the daughter of a Jew.' the Prophet ﷺ said: 'You are indeed the daughter of a prophet, and your uncle was indeed a prophet, and you are indeed married to a prophet. So what does she boast about over you?' Then he said: 'Fear Allah, O Hafsah.'
