حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ خَطَبَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى جُلَيْبِيبٍ امْرَأَةً مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ إِلَى أَبِيهَا فَقَالَ حَتَّى أَسْتَأْمِرَ أُمَّهَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَنَعَمْ إِذًا قَالَ فَانْطَلَقَ الرَّجُلُ إِلَى امْرَأَتِهِ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهَا فَقَالَتْ لَاهَا اللَّهُ إِذًا مَا وَجَدَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا جُلَيْبِيبًا وَقَدْ مَنَعْنَاهَا مِنْ فُلَانٍ وَفُلَانٍ قَالَ وَالْجَارِيَةُ فِي سِتْرِهَا تَسْتَمِعُ قَالَ فَانْطَلَقَ الرَّجُلُ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُخْبِرَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِذَلِكَ فَقَالَتْ الْجَارِيَ
ةُ أَتُرِيدُونَ أَنْ تَرُدُّوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمْرَهُ إِنْ كَانَ قَدْ رَضِيَهُ لَكُمْ فَأَنْكِحُوهُ فَكَأَنَّهَا جَلَّتْ عَنْ أَبَوَيْهَا وَقَالَا صَدَقْتِ فَذَهَبَ أَبُوهَا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ إِنْ كُنْتَ قَدْ رَضِيتَهُ فَقَدْ رَضِينَاهُ قَالَ فَإِنِّي قَدْ رَضِيتُهُ فَزَوَّجَهَا ثُمَّ فُزِّعَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ فَرَكِبَ جُلَيْبِيبٌ فَوَجَدُوهُ قَدْ قُتِلَ وَحَوْلَهُ نَاسٌ مِنْ الْمُشْرِكِينَ قَدْ قَتَلَهُمْ قَالَ أَنَسٌ فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهَا وَإِنَّهَا لَمِنْ أَنْفَقِ بَيْتٍ فِي الْمَدِينَةِ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us: Ma'mar narrated to us from Thabit al-Bunani, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Prophet ﷺ proposed on behalf of Julaybib to a woman from the Ansar to her father. The father said: 'Let me consult her mother.' So the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Then do so.' The father went to the girl's mother and said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is proposing on behalf of Julaybib for your daughter.' She said: 'How strange! the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he did not propose for himself?' The father said: 'He is proposing on behalf of Julaybib.' She said: 'No, by Allah, we shall not marry her to Julaybib.' When the father was about to leave to inform the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, the girl said: 'Who proposed for me?' Her mother told her. She said: 'Will you refuse the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? Hand me over to him, for he will not let me be lost.' So they married her to Julaybib. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out on a military expedition, and after it he asked: 'Do you miss anyone?' They said: 'We miss so-and-so and so-and-so.' Then he asked: 'Do you miss anyone?' They said: 'No.' He said: 'But I miss Julaybib. Search for him.' They found him beside seven of the enemy whom he had killed before they killed him. the Prophet ﷺ said: 'He killed seven, then they killed him. This man is of me, and I am of him.' He repeated it two or three times. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ placed him on his forearms and had no cradle except the forearms of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until he was placed in his grave.
