حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ حَدَّثَنِي ثَابِتٌ الْبُنَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذْ مَرَّ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْقَوْمِ يَا رَسُولَ الل
َّهِ إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّ هَذَا الرَّجُلَ قَالَ هَلْ أَعْلَمْتَهُ ذَلِكَ قَالَ لَا فَقَالَ قُمْ فَأَعْلِمْهُ قَالَ فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ يَا هَذَا وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّكَ فِي اللَّهِ قَالَ أَحَبَّكَ الَّذِي أَحْبَبْتَنِي لَهُ

English Translation
Zayd ibn al-Hubab narrated to us: Husayn ibn Waqid narrated to us: Thabit al-Bunani narrated to me: Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) narrated to me, he said: 'I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when a man passed by. A man from the gathering said: O Messenger of Allah, I love this man. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Have you told him? He said: No. He said: Tell him. So he went to him and said: I love you for the sake of Allah. The man replied: May the One for Whose sake you love me love you.'
