حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ حَدَّثَنِي حُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ حَدَّثَنِي ثَابِتٌ البُنَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَفَعَ إِلَى حَفْصَةَ ابْنَةِ عُمَرَ رَجُلًا فَقَالَ احْتَفِظِي بِهِ قَالَ فَغَفَلَتْ حَفْصَةُ وَمَضَى الرَّجُلُ فَدَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ يَا حَفْصَةُ مَا فَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ قَالَتْ غَفَلْتُ عَنْهُ يَا
رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَخَرَجَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَطَعَ اللَّهُ يَدَكِ فَرَفَعَتْ يَدَيْهَا هَكَذَا فَدَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ مَا شَأْنُكِ يَا حَفْصَةُ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قُلْتَ قَبْلُ لِي كَذَا وَكَذَا فَقَالَ لَهَا صُفِّي يَدَيْكِ فَإِنِّي سَأَلْتُ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَيُّمَا إِنْسَانٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي دَعَوْتُ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَيْهِ أَنْ يَجْعَلَهَا لَهُ مَغْفِرَةً

English Translation
Zayd ibn al-Hubab narrated to us: Husayn ibn Waqid narrated to me: Thabit al-Bunani narrated to me: Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entrusted a man to Hafsah bint 'Umar (رضي الله عنها) and said: 'Keep him safe.' Then the Prophet ﷺ went, and the woman let the man go. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'O Hafsah, what did the man do?' She said: 'O Messenger of Allah, he has gone.' the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'May Allah cut off your hand!' So she raised her hand. the Prophet ﷺ said: 'I asked Allah for something but I am only a human being — I am pleased and I am angry, and when I make a supplication against a Muslim, make it for him a purification and reward.'
