Hadith #371

حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسَاحِقٍ عَنْ عَامِرِ
بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ مَا رَأَيْتُ إِمَامًا أَشْبَهَ بِصَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ إِمَامِكُمْ هَذَا لِعُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَهُوَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَكَانَ عُمَرُ لَا يُطِيلُ الْقِرَاءَةَ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Yunus narrated to us: Fulayh narrated to us from Muhammad ibn Musahiq, from 'Amir ibn 'Abdullah — meaning Ibn al-Zubayr — from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: 'I have not seen any imam whose prayer more closely resembles the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ than this imam of yours.' He was referring to 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz (رحمه الله). Fulayh said: I prayed behind him and he used to be moderate in his movements — not rushing or lingering excessively.
