Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَنَسٍ قَالَ عَفَّانُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَقَدْ تَرَكْتُمْ بِالْمَدِينَةِ
رِجَالًا مَا سِرْتُمْ مِنْ مَسِيرٍ وَلَا أَنْفَقْتُمْ مِنْ نَفَقَةٍ وَلَا قَطَعْتُمْ مِنْ وَادٍ إِلَّا وَهُمْ مَعَكُمْ فِيهِ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَكَيْفَ يَكُونُونَ مَعَنَا وَهُمْ بِالْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ حَبَسَهُمْ الْعُذْرُ

English Translation
Abu Kamil and 'Affan narrated to us, they said: Hammad narrated to us, Humayd informed us, from Musa ibn Anas — 'Affan said in his narration: from Musa ibn Anas ibn Malik, from his father — who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'By the One in Whose hand is my soul, if you were to commit no sins, Allah would do away with you and bring a people who would commit sins, and they would seek forgiveness from Allah, and He would forgive them.'
