حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّهُ أَبْصَرَ فِي يَدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَل

َّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ وَرِقٍ يَوْمًا وَاحِدًا فَصَنَعَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَ مِنْ وَرِقٍ قَالَ فَطَرَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمَهُ وَطَرَحَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَهُمْ

English Translation

Abu Kamil narrated to us, Ibrahim — meaning Ibn Sa'd — narrated to us, Ibn Shihab narrated to us, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه), that he saw on the hand of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a silver ring for one day. The people then made silver rings, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ threw away his ring, and the people threw away their rings.
