English Translation

Sahl narrated to us, from Humayd, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet ﷺ was wounded on the day of Uhud. They broke his front tooth. He began wiping the blood from his face saying: 'How can a people who have stained the face of their prophet with blood succeed?' He was calling them to Allah while they were wounding him. Then Allah (عز وجل) revealed: 'Not for you is the decision' [3:128].
