حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي الْأَن

ْصَارِيَّ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ سَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نِدَاءَ صَبِيٍّ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَخَفَّفَ فَظَنَنَّا أَنَّهُ إِنَّمَا فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ رَحْمَةً لِلصَّبِيِّ إِذْ عَلِمَ أَنَّ أُمَّهُ مَعَهُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ

English Translation
Muhammad ibn 'Abdullah, meaning al-Ansari, narrated to us, Humayd narrated to us, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Prophet ﷺ heard a child crying while he was in prayer, so he shortened it. We thought he did that out of mercy for the child because of his mother.
