English Translation
'Ubaydah narrated to us, from Humayd al-Tawil, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Prophet ﷺ consulted his Companions about marching to Badr. Abu Bakr advised him, then he consulted 'Umar who advised him. Then he consulted again, and a man from the Ansar said: 'It is you that Allah means, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'Yes.' The man said: 'Then march! By the One Who sent you with the truth, if you were to plunge into the sea with us, we would plunge in with you.'
