حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَدْخُلُ عَلَى أُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ وَلَهَا ابْنٌ مِنْ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ يُكْنَى أَبَا عُم
َيْرٍ وَكَانَ يُمَازِحُهُ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ فَرَآهُ حَزِينًا فَقَالَ مَالِي أَرَى أَبَا عُمَيْرٍ حَزِينًا فَقَالُوا مَاتَ نُغَرُهُ الَّذِي كَانَ يَلْعَبُ بِهِ قَالَ فَجَعَلَ يَقُولُ أَبَا عُمَيْرٍ مَا فَعَلَ النُّغَيْرُ
English Translation
Muhammad ibn 'Abdullah narrated to us, Humayd al-Tawil narrated to us, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet ﷺ used to visit Umm Sulaym, and she had a son from Abu Talhah whose kunyah was Abu 'Umayr. He used to play with him and say: 'O Abu 'Umayr, what happened to the nughayr?' — a small bird he used to play with.
