حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّازَّقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ نَزَلَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ { ل
ِيَغْفِرَ لَكَ اللَّهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِكَ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ } مَرْجِعَنَا مِنْ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَقَدْ أُنْزِلَتْ عَلَيَّ آيَةٌ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِمَّا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ قَرَأَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالُوا هَنِيئًا مَرِيئًا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَقَدْ بَيَّنَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَكَ مَاذَا يَفْعَلُ بِكَ فَمَاذَا يَفْعَلُ بِنَا فَنَزَلَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ { لِيُدْخِلَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ جَنَّاتٍ حَتَّى بَلَغَ فَوْزًا عَظِيمًا }

English Translation
Anas (رضي الله عنه) narrated: The verse 'That Allah may forgive you your sins of the past and the future' [48:2] was revealed to the Prophet ﷺ upon our return from al-Hudaybiyyah. the Prophet ﷺ said: "Tonight a verse has been revealed to me that is dearer to me than all that is upon the earth." Then the Prophet ﷺ recited the verse. They said: "Congratulations, O Messenger of Allah! Allah has made clear what He will do with you. But what will He do with us?" Then the verse was revealed: 'That He may admit the believing men and believing women to gardens beneath which rivers flow' [48:5].
