حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ بِنَخْلٍ لِبَنِي النَّ
جَّارِ فَسَمِعَ صَوْتًا فَقَالَ مَا هَذَا قَالُوا قَبْرُ رَجُلٍ دُفِنَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْلَا أَنْ لَا تَدَافَنُوا لَدَعَوْتُ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَنْ يُسْمِعَكُمْ عَذَابَ الْقَبْرِ

English Translation
Anas (رضي الله عنه) narrated: the Prophet ﷺ passed by some palm trees belonging to the Banu al-Najjar and heard a sound. He said: "What is this?" They said: "A grave of a man buried in the pre-Islamic period [Jahiliyyah]." the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Were it not that you would stop burying [your dead], I would have asked Allah to let you hear the punishment of the grave."
