Hadith #427

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ سَارَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى خَيْبَرَ فَانْتَهَى إِلَيْهَا لَيْلًا قَالَ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا طَرَقَ لَيْلًا لَمْ يُغِرْ عَلَيْهِمْ حَتَّى يُصْبِحَ فَإِنْ سَمِعَ أَذَانًا أَمْسَكَ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُونُوا يُصَلُّونَ أَغَارَ عَلَيْهِمْ قَالَ فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحْنَا رَكِبَ وَرَكِبَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ قَالَ فَخَرَجَ أَهْلُ الْقَرْيَةِ إِلَى حُرُ
وثِهِمْ مَعَهُمْ مَكَاتِلُهُمْ وَمَسَاحِيهِمْ فَلَمَّا رَأَوْا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَالْمُسْلِمِينَ قَالُوا مُحَمَّدٌ وَاللَّهِ وَالْخَمِيسُ قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ خَرِبَتْ خَيْبَرُ إِنَّا إِذَا نَزَلْنَا بِسَاحَةِ قَوْمٍ فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ قَالَ أَنَسٌ وَإِنِّي لَرَدِيفُ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ وَإِنَّ قَدَمِي لَتَمَسُّ قَدَمَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

English Translation
Anas (رضي الله عنه) narrated: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ marched to Khaybar and reached it at night. When he arrived at a people by night, he would not attack until morning. When morning came, the Jews came out with their shovels and baskets. When they saw him, they said: "Muhammad! By Allah, Muhammad and the army!" the Prophet ﷺ said: "Allahu Akbar! Khaybar is destroyed. When we descend in the courtyard of a people, evil is the morning of those who have been warned."
