English Translation
Anas (رضي الله عنه) narrated: A funeral passed by the Prophet ﷺ and it was praised well. He said: "It has become obligatory [i.e., Paradise]." Then another funeral passed and it was spoken of badly. He said: "It has become obligatory [i.e., the Fire]." 'Umar (رضي الله عنه) said: "What has become obligatory?" He said: "This one whom you praised well — Paradise has become obligatory for him. And this one whom you spoke ill of — the Fire has become obligatory for him. You are the witnesses of Allah on earth."
