Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَمَرَنِي
أَنْ أُقْرِئَكَ الْقُرْآنَ أَوْ أَقْرَأَ عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ قَالَ آللَّهُ سَمَّانِي لَكَ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ قَدْ ذُكِرْتُ عِنْدَ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَذَرَفَتْ عَيْنَاهُ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Rawh narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Abi Arubah narrated to us, from Qatadah who said: Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) narrated to us that the Prophet ﷺ of Allah ﷺ said to Ubayy ibn Ka'b (رضي الله عنه): 'Indeed, Allah عز وجل has commanded me to recite the Quran to you.' Ubayy said, 'Did Allah name me to you?' He said, 'Yes.' So Ubayy wept.
