حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ الْخُزَاعِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْهَادِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ عَنْ الْكَوْثَرِ فَقَ
الَ نَهَرٌ أَعْطَانِيهِ رَبِّي أَشَدُّ بَيَاضًا مِنْ اللَّبَنِ وَأَحْلَى مِنْ الْعَسَلِ وَفِيهِ طَيْرٌ كَأَعْنَاقِ الْجُزُرِ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ تِلْكَ لَطَيْرٌ نَاعِمَةٌ فَقَالَ أَكَلَتُهَا أَنْعَمُ مِنْهَا يَا عُمَرُ

English Translation
Abu Salamah al-Khuza'i narrated to us, Layth informed us, from Yazid — meaning Ibn al-Had — from Abd al-Wahhab ibn Abi Bakr, from Abdullah ibn Muslim, from Ibn Shihab, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet ﷺ entered Makkah in the year of the Conquest wearing a helmet on his head. When he removed it, a man came and said, 'Ibn Khatal is clinging to the curtains of the Ka'bah.' He ﷺ said, 'Kill him.'
