حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ وَهَاشِمٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَتَّابٍ وَقَالَ هَاشِمٌ مَوْلَى بَنِي هُرْمُزَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ لَوْلَا أَنْ أَخْشَى أَنْ أُخْطِئَ لَحَدَّثْتُكُمْ بِأ
َشْيَاءَ سَمِعْتُهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَكِنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنْ النَّارِ قَالَ هَاشِمٌ قَالَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْ سَمِعْتُهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

English Translation
Hajjaj informed us, Shu'bah informed us — and Hashim said: Shu'bah narrated to us — from 'Attab — and Hashim said: the freed slave of Banu Hurmuz — who said: I heard Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) say: Were it not that I fear making mistakes, I would have narrated to you things I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ — or he said: that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said. But I heard him ﷺ say: 'Whoever deliberately lies upon me, let him take his seat in the Hellfire.'
