حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَال
َ سَمِعْتُ عَتَّابًا مَوْلَى ابْنِ هُرْمُزَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِي هَذِهِ يَعْنِي الْيُمْنَى عَلَى السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتُ

English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, he said: I heard 'Attab, the freed slave of Ibn Hurmuz, say: I heard Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) say: I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with this hand of mine — meaning the right hand — to hear and obey. He ﷺ would instruct us as much as we could bear and would say: 'Do not run away, for you will not find anyone after me.'
