حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّا
دُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ حَضَرَتْ الصَّلَاةُ فَقَامَ جِيرَانُ الْمَسْجِدِ إِلَى مَنَازِلِهِمْ يَتَوَضَّئُونَ وَبَقِيَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ نَاسٌ مِنْ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ مَا بَيْنَ السَّبْعِينَ إِلَى الثَّمَانِينَ فَدَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَاءٍ فَأُتِيَ بِمِخْضَبٍ مِنْ حِجَارَةٍ فِيهِ مَاءٌ فَوَضَعَ أَصَابِعَ يَدِهِ الْيُمْنَى فِي الْمِخْضَبِ فَجَعَلَ يَصُبُّ عَلَيْهِمْ وَهُمْ يَتَوَضَّئُونَ وَيَقُولُ تَوَضَّئُوا حَيَّ عَلَى الْوُضُوءِ حَتَّى تَوَضَّئُوا جَمِيعًا وَبَقِيَ فِيهِ نَحْوٌ مِمَّا كَانَ فِيهِ

English Translation
Mu'ammal and 'Affan narrated to us, they said: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Thabit, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: The time for prayer came, and those living near the mosque went to their homes to perform ablution. There remained in the mosque some people from among the Muhajirun, between seventy and eighty men. A stone vessel was brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ — it was not a large basin nor very wide — and all of them performed ablution from it. Anas was asked: 'How many were they?' He said: 'Between seventy and eighty.'
