English Translation
Mu'ammal narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, from Thabit, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) that the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ said to the Prophet ﷺ: 'When we are with you and you speak to us, our hearts become tender. But when we go out from your presence and interact with our wives and children, we do not recognize ourselves.' the Prophet ﷺ said: 'If you remained in the state you are in when you are with me, the angels would shake your hands in your paths and on your beds. But, O so-and-so, an hour and an hour' — meaning a time for worship and a time for other things.
