English Translation
Muhammad ibn Abdullah narrated to us, Humayd narrated to us, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) who said: Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (رضي الله عنه) came to the Prophet ﷺ seeking a mount. He found the Prophet ﷺ was busy, and the Prophet ﷺ swore that he would not give him a mount. Then the Prophet ﷺ called him and gave him a mount. Abu Musa said, 'O Messenger of Allah, you swore not to give me a mount.' He ﷺ said, 'Indeed, I do not swear an oath and then see something better than it except that I do what is better and make expiation for my oath.'
