Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ أُقِيمَتْ الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَدْ كَانَ بَيْنَ نِسَاءِ رَسُول
ِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْءٌ قَالَ فَجَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَرُدُّ بَعْضَهُنَّ عَنْ بَعْضٍ قَالَ فَجَاءَهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ احْثُ فِي أَفْوَاهِهِنَّ التُّرَابَ وَاخْرُجْ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ
English Translation
Ya'qub narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq who said: Humayd al-Tawil narrated to me, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) who said: 'The prayer was called during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and there had been a private conversation between the wives of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ — a man stood up and spoke to the Prophet ﷺ privately and the Prophet ﷺ remained standing for a long time until his companions began to doze off. Then he prayed with them.'
