حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي ثَابِتٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ مَرَّ بِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا أَلْعَبُ مَعَ الصِّبْيَانِ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْنَا ثُمَّ دَعَانِي فَبَعَثَنِي إِلَى حَاجَةٍ لَهُ فَجِئْتُ وَقَدْ أَبْطَأْتُ عَنْ أُمِّي فَقَالَتْ مَا حَبَسَكَ أَيْنَ كُنْت
َ فَقُلْتُ بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى حَاجَةٍ فَقَالَتْ أَيْ بُنَيَّ وَمَا هِيَ فَقُلْتُ إِنَّهَا سِرٌّ قَالَتْ لَا تُحَدِّثْ بِسِرِّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَحَدًا ثُمَّ قَالَ وَاللَّهِ يَا ثَابِتُ لَوْ كُنْتُ حَدَّثْتُ بِهِ أَحَدًا لَحَدَّثْتُكَ

English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, Thabit informed me, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: 'the Prophet ﷺ passed by me while I was playing with the boys. He greeted us, then called me and sent me on an errand for him. I came back late to my mother, and when I returned I said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me on an errand. She said: What was it? I said: It is a secret. She said: Then do not tell anyone the secret of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' Anas said to Thabit: 'By Allah, if I were to tell anyone, I would tell you, O Thabit.'
