حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يَا مَعْشَرَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَلَ
مْ آتِكُمْ ضُلَّالًا فَهَدَاكُمْ اللَّهُ بِي وَأَعْدَاءً فَأَلَّفَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِكُمْ بِي ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَلَا تَقُولُونَ أَتَيْتَنَا طَرِيدًا فَآوَيْنَاكَ وَخَائِفًا فَأَمَّنَّاكَ وَمَخْذُولًا فَنَصَرْنَاكَ فَقَالُوا بَلْ لِلَّهِ الْمَنُّ عَلَيْنَا وَلِرَسُولِهِ

English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, Thabit informed us, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'O community of the Ansar, did I not come to you when you were astray and Allah guided you through me? And when you were enemies and Allah (عز وجل) united your hearts? And when you were poor and Allah enriched you?' Each time they said: 'Allah and His Messenger are most gracious.' He said: 'Will you not respond to me, O community of the Ansar?' They said: 'What shall we say?' He said: 'Say: You came to us rejected and we believed you, and abandoned and we supported you, and expelled and we sheltered you, and destitute and we consoled you.'
