حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَا
صَلَ فِي رَمَضَانَ فَوَاصَلَ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فَأُخْبِرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِذَلِكَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ مُدَّ لِي الشَّهْرُ لَوَاصَلْتُ وِصَالًا يَدَعُ الْمُتَعَمِّقُونَ تَعَمُّقَهُمْ إِنِّي أَظَلُّ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي
Isnad Chain
English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, Thabit informed us, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ practiced Wisal (continuous fasting) during Ramadan, and some of his Companions also fasted continuously. the Prophet ﷺ was informed of this and said: 'If the month were extended for me, I would fast continuously until those who go to extremes would abandon their extremes. I am not like any of you — my Lord feeds me and gives me drink.'
