Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ عَنْ أ
َنَسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَعْمَلُ الْبُرْهَةَ مِنْ عُمُرِهِ بِالْعَمَلِ الَّذِي لَوْ مَاتَ عَلَيْهِ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ فَإِذَا كَانَ قَبْلَ مَوْتِهِ تَحَوَّلَ فَعَمِلَ عَمَلَ أَهْلِ النَّارِ فَمَاتَ فَدَخَلَ النَّارَ وَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَعْمَلُ الْبُرْهَةَ مِنْ عُمُرِهِ بِالْعَمَلِ الَّذِي لَوْ مَاتَ عَلَيْهِ دَخَلَ النَّارَ فَإِذَا كَانَ قَبْلَ مَوْتِهِ تَحَوَّلَ فَعَمِلَ بِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَمَاتَ فَدَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ

English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, Humayd informed us, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'A man may work for a long period of his life doing deeds that appear to be the deeds of the people of Paradise, then he ends his life with deeds of the people of the Fire. And a man may work for a long period of his life doing deeds that appear to be the deeds of the people of the Fire, then he ends his life with deeds of the people of Paradise.'
