Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ أَخْبَرَنِي عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَمَعَ الْأَنْصَارَ فَقَالَ هَلْ فِيكُمْ أَحَدٌ مِنْ غَيْ
رِكُمْ قَالُوا لَا إِلَّا ابْنَ أُخْتٍ لَنَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ابْنُ أُخْتِ الْقَوْمِ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً مِنْهُمْ فَحَدَّثَنِي بِهِ عَنْ أَنَسٍ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Bahz narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, Qatadah narrated to us, he informed me from Anas ibn Malik that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gathered the Ansar and said: "Is there anyone among you from other than you?" They said: 'No, except a nephew of ours.' He ﷺ said: "The nephew of a people is of them." Then he said: "The Quraysh have just recently left jahiliyyah. I wanted to console them and win their hearts. Are you not pleased that the people take away worldly goods while you take away the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to your homes?" They said: 'Yes, we are pleased.' He ﷺ said: "You will encounter selfishness after me, so be patient until you meet me at the Hawd (the Pool)."
