حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَدْ دَعَاهُ خَيَّاطٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ فَإِذَا خُبْزُ شَعِيرٍ وَإِهَالَةٌ سَنِخَةٌ قَالَ فَإِذَا فِيه
َا قَرْعٌ قَالَ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعْجِبُهُ الْقَرْعُ قَالَ فَجَعَلْتُ أُقَرِّبُهُ قُدَّامَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَنَسٌ لَمْ أَزَلْ يُعْجِبُنِي الْقَرْعُ مُنْذُ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعْجِبُهُ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Bahz narrated to us, Hammam narrated to us, Qatadah narrated to us, from Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) who said: I came to the Prophet ﷺ when a tailor from the people of Madinah had invited him. There was barley bread and rancid fat broth with squash in it. I saw the Prophet ﷺ seeking out the squash from around the plate, and from that day squash never ceased to please me.
