حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ثَابِتٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ ثَمَانِينَ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ هَبَطُوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَصْحَابِهِ مِنْ جَبَلِ التَّنْعِيمِ عِنْدَ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ فَأَخَذَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سِلْمًا فَعَفَا عَنْهُمْ وَنَزَلَ الْقُرْآنُ { وَهُوَ الَّذِي كَفَّ أَيْدِيَهُمْ عَنْكُمْ وَأَيْدِيَكُمْ عَنْهُمْ بِبَطْنِ مَكَّةَ مِنْ بَعْدِ أَنْ أَظْفَرَكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ }
English Translation
Affan narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, he said: Thabit informed us, from Anas (رضي الله عنه), that eighty men from the people of Makkah descended upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his Companions from the mountain of Tan'im during the Fajr prayer, intending to attack them. They were captured, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ released them. Then Allah (عز وجل) revealed: 'And it is He who withheld their hands from you and your hands from them in the valley of Makkah' [48:24].
