حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ أَخْبَرَنَا سَيَّارٌ عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى
اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ فَلَمَّا رَجَعْنَا ذَهَبْنَا لِنَدْخُلَ فَقَالَ أَمْهِلُوا حَتَّى نَدْخُلَ لَيْلًا أَيْ عِشَاءً لِكَيْ تَمْتَشِطَ الشَّعِثَةُ وَتَسْتَحِدَّ الْمُغِيبَةُ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Hushaym informed us, Sayyar informed us, from al-Sha'bi, from Jabir (رضي الله عنهما), who said: We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey. When we returned, we went to enter [the city]. He said: 'Wait until we enter at nighttime' — meaning evening — 'so that the woman whose husband has been away may comb her hair, and the one whose husband has been away may shave [her pubic hair].'
