حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ جَابِرٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَسْلَمَ جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاعْتَرَفَ بِالزِّنَا فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ اعْتَرَفَ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ حَتَّى شَهِدَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ أَرْبَعَ مَرَّاتٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ص
َلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبِكَ جُنُونٌ قَالَ لَا قَالَ أَحْصَنْتَ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَأَمَرَ بِهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرُجِمَ بِالْمُصَلَّى فَلَمَّا أَذْلَقَتْهُ الْحِجَارَةُ فَرَّ فَأُدْرِكَ فَرُجِمَ حَتَّى مَاتَ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَيْرًا وَلَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ

English Translation
'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar informed us, from al-Zuhri, from Abu Salamah, from Jabir (رضي الله عنه): "A man from Aslam came to the Prophet ﷺ and confessed to fornication. the Prophet ﷺ turned away from him. Then he confessed again, and the Prophet ﷺ turned away from him, until he testified against himself four times. the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Are you insane?' He said: 'No.' He said: 'Are you married?' He said: 'Yes.' So the Prophet ﷺ ordered that he be stoned. He was taken to the musalla and stoned. When the stones struck him, he fled, but he was caught and stoned until he died. the Prophet ﷺ spoke well of him but did not pray over him."
