حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرًا يُسْأَلُ هَ
لْ بَايَعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ قَالَ لَا وَلَكِنْ صَلَّى بِهَا وَلَمْ يُبَايِعْ عِنْدَ الشَّجَرَةِ إِلَّا الشَّجَرَةَ الَّتِي لِلْحُدَيْبِيَةِ و أَخْبَرَنَا أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرًا دَعَا عَلَى بِئْرِ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ

English Translation
Hajjaj narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj said: Abu al-Zubayr informed me that he heard Jabir (رضي الله عنه) being asked: 'Did the Prophet ﷺ take the pledge (bay'ah) at Dhul-Hulayfah?' He said: 'No. He prayed there but did not take any pledge at the tree except the pledge that took place at (Hudaybiyyah). When the people pledged, they pledged not to die fleeing (i.e., they pledged to fight to the death).'"
