Hadith #99
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ أَهْلَ الْيَمَنِ لَمَّا قَدِمُوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالُوا
ابْعَثْ مَعَنَا رَجُلًا يُعَلِّمُنَا السُّنَّةَ وَالْإِسْلَامَ قَالَ فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ الْجَرَّاحِ وَقَالَ هَذَا أَمِينُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ

English Translation
Affan narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, Thabit narrated to us, from Anas (رضي الله عنه), that when the people of Yemen came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, they said: 'Send with us a man to teach us the Sunnah and Islam.' He took the hand of Abu Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah (رضي الله عنه) and said: 'This is the trustworthy one of this Ummah.'
