English Translation
Rawh narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj narrated to us, Abu al-Zubayr informed me that he heard Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله عنهما) saying: "the Prophet ﷺ commanded us to kill dogs, until a woman would come from the desert with her dog and we would kill it. Then the Prophet ﷺ prohibited killing dogs and said: 'It is upon you (to kill only) the pure black one with two spots (above the eyes), for it is a shaytan (devil).'"
